Today’s interview is with Doreen Fulton, creator of the Finally, an IEP for Mom Experience! program designed to help Moms develop their own Individualized Empowerment Plan.

She shared:

  • How you can help yourself and your child at the same time;
  • Simple strategies you can use to bounce back when you are down for the count
  • What you can do today to sleep easier tonight and wake up refreshed and ready to tackle the day ahead!

  3. Thank you for this interview. You have touched on many good points that I find are important for a special needs mom to consider. I think though that in many situations that it would be impossible to be able to “leave the situation” to get the space you need to refocus. I certainly don’t have a beach house to escape to, and I don’t begrudge you that benefit, and certainly not for days at a time. I really liked the concept of finding a bubble of space away, which like you said could be found taking a walk or even closing yourself off in a room just to breathe. I have other children to consider, so leaving for any space of time would be difficult. I think that finding that space, where ever it is, and learning how to breathe out the stress so a person can refocus is the important point. I also liked the part where it was discussed about finding another special needs mom who can empathize with your situation. It took me a long time to find one such person, someone who wouldn’t judge but just be there, and not have it turn into it being about them. Thank you again for letting me in on this interview and I’ve gained some great focus points to work on.
